Our first Kid's Kayak Camp ever went great! The kid's had a terrific time, met new friends and learned quite a bit about paddling. Bill, our Kid's Camp Counselor kept them real busy. Reports from the parents said the kid's would come home with a healthy appetite and would be ready for bed soon after. Bill's wife Mary reported the same at their home... sorry Mary!
Other great news was heard around town. A local music teacher and also a friend of ours wanted to let us know that he noticed a tremendous change in one of his students who just completed the kayak camp. The student reported to class with a relaxed and confident attitude and talked much about his kayaking week. Prior lessons showed some difficulties with the assignment but this time he glided through with ease. Whatever we were doing he said to keep it up.
Everyone at FBO was involved one way or another. Sarah, Greg, Mary and Nick all took turns assisting Bill on excursions while Monica shopped for the lunches and snacks and Frank bar-b-qued for the campers family and friends on the last day. Some of the paddling excursions included John Pennekamp State Park, Indian Key State Park and Garden Cove. Short guided hikes, snorkeling and swimming were also included in their day.
